The personnel of The Retrodorm is there to help you during the working days, emails and phone calls are answered between about 9am and 3.45pm and the offices opening hours you can read from the home page. Please remember to make an appointment before coming to pick up the keys for either yourself or for your exchange student, as the office might not be open if you arrive unexpectantly. If you have any question related to your tenancy or The Retrodorm, please let us know, preferably by e-mail. If you notice any defects or faults in the dorm, please let us know and we will try to fix it. Retrodorm staff office is located on the first floor of the B-wing.

The Retrodorm has its own janitor, who takes care of the maintenance of the premises. In urgent matters during day time which require instant actions, the janitor is the first person to contact. The urgent matters could be, for instance, a broken toilet or a leaking water pipe. The janitor's working hours Mon-Wed 7-15.30 Thu 7-15.15 Fri 7-14.30. If you notice a defect, which doesn't require instant action, please write it down to the deficiency notebook. The deficiency notebook can be found on the 1st floor hallway table of A-wing, in front of the office in B-wing and on top of the mailboxes in H-building.
Property maintenance's emergency number for the evenings and weekends:

After the janitor's working hours and during the weekends the property maintenance office helps you in urgent matters (matters that can cause damage to the premises). The urgent matters could be, for instance, broken or leaking water pipe, long lasting electricity breaks etc.
General emergency phone number is 112. Fire department, police and ambulance are reached through this number. In the case of emergency call 112. Please state your business in a calm manner, giving precise information about the emergency and your whereabouts. Try to be as precise as possible when giving information to the emergency line.
Security company AVARN Security:

The premises of the dorm are guarded by the AVARN security. They visit dorm’s residential area frequently and check that everything is in order.
Key service during the evenings and weekends:
If you lose your key AVARN Security has the spare key for the dorm and your room. If you forget your key inside of your room etc. during the evening or weekend, AVARN Security will open the door for you.
The cost of the door opening: by card or cash 40 €, by invoice 50 €. The prices are the same whatever the day or the time of the day. Prices include VAT 24 %. Card payments can be made with most common cards accepted in Finland for example Master Card Debit/Credit and Visa Debit/Credit.
Price for a new key: 100 €, price includes VAT 24 %.
Information board and Dorm book:
There are information boards and Dorm books in each floor of the dorm. In them you can find different kind of announcements and information from The Retrodorm’s personnel.
